JOB DESCRIPTION:

Collects and arranges technical information into prepared format required for technical publications, manuals, and other written material. Under general supervision, prepares, formats, analyzes, and verifies engineering data, writes text material for various technical publications. Obtains data and information from observation and consultation with engineers and technical staff. Ensures accuracy and completeness of writings. Assigns, evaluates, and creates artwork. Coordinates the preparation of documents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A.A.E.E. or Associates's degree in Journalism, English or related field plus technical training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years of technical writing experience on electronic equipment and systems. Must be proficient in MS Office, primarily MS Word. Must possess excellent communications skills. Must be able to create and modify graphics using Visio for MS Windows and Corel Draw. Experience in authoring SGML and/or XML electronic documentation a plus. Experience with Arbortext Epic desirable. Proposal writing experience also a plus.
