L-3 Communications' IEC Introduces New GPS Receiver, TruTrakTM Strike for Missiles and Precision-guided Weapons
Designed for high-volume production, TruTrak TM Strike is capable of operating in very high jamming environments
ANAHEIM, CA - August, 2003 Interstate Electronics Corporation (IEC), a wholly owned subsidiary of L-3 Communications Corporation (NYSE:LLL), announces the availability of its new single-board L1/L2 12-channel GPS receiver, employing a KDP II Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) chipset, with the ability to withstand a 300g shock, the TruTrak Strike.
The new GPS receiver is capable of operating in very high jamming environments with the addition of an integrated anti-jamming (AJ) board. The unit supports SAASM-extended functions, provides measurement outputs (PR/DR) and INS inputs for tight coupling configurations.
The dual L1/L2 antenna inputs allow for easy 12-channel tracking of all satellites in view with very fast Direct Y-code acquisition when keyed and initialized. The receiver processes Coarse Acquisition (C/A) and encrypted P(Y) code. The new receiver also provides Code Trak (state 3 operation) capability when provided with inertial aiding data such as position, velocity and time correction via the I/O port.
Weighing less than one pound, the TruTrak Strike has an operating voltage of 5.0 Vdc and a power usage of 3.8W. The unit is capable of withstanding a 300g shock and provides continuous operation at an altitude up to 100,000 feet. Time-to-first-satellite-fix is typically no greater than six seconds.
